The successful candidate will:
- Provide manufacturing technical direction and technical assistance for new and existing products, including design, facility layout and capital equipment/tooling requirements.
- Manage the launch of new products and changes to existing products, maintaining timing, budget and technical requirements of the project. Lead process FMEAs and implementation of advanced product quality planning.
- Develop, document and implement safety systems and practices compliant with OSHA regulations.
- Implement continuous improvement activities, utilizing lean manufacturing principles to enhance quality, reduce cost and ergonomic stressors.
- Maintain process documentation for existing programs and create documentation for new programs.
- Assist QA, Purchasing and Production in the resolution of vendor and internal quality issues.
- Provide manufacturing input for product design.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in a fabrication and assembly intensive business is required.
Involvement with productivity improvement, new tooling and capital equipment acquisitions, process qualification, safety systems design and implementation, resolution of quality and technical problems and process design.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on problem solver, comfortable with communicating with all areas of the organization, customers and suppliers.
