General Dynamics Satcom Technologies is looking for a Senior Software Engineer II that will be developing and maintaining antenna control system and earth station SCADA software used primarily by the satellite industry. The technical challenges include real time servo applications, hardware/software interfaces, communication protocols, database applications, and graphical interface development. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment with other engineers and program management. This position is a senior level position requiring at least 6 years of experience in the field or in a related areas. The candidate must be a self starter and must be able to demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures. This position reports to the Software Development Manager.

Specific duties, tasks and responsibilities include:
• C,C++ languages
• Operating systems including QNX RTOS (or similar) and Windows
• Real time application experience
• Graphical interface design and development
• Networking protocols
• Java language and DSP experience are a plus
• Other duties as assigned
This position requires a Bachelor or Master’s of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. This work is performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions. This work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. Some limited travel may be required. You must be a US citizen in order to apply for this position.
