General Dynamics Satcom Technologies is currently seeking an Information Assurance engineer for the Richardson, TX operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for the oversight and implementation of information security requirements for various products delivered as part of government and commercial satellite communication systems.
Responsibilities will include:
• Developing and maintaining a formal Information Systems Security Program.
• Maintaining a current CISSP-ISSEP certifications
• Implementing and enforcing IS security policies across the product line of Windows, UNIX, and various embedded platforms.
• Monitoring and implementing STIGs requirements
• Working with customers and developers to provide the latest security related upgrades to fielded products
• Keeping management informed on security-related incidents and any changes that might affect accreditations
• Initiating protective or corrective measures when a security incident or vulnerability is discovered in an affected product.
• Ensuring all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to pr operly authorized individuals.
• Ensuring system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the system life cycle.
• Coordinating security inspections, tests and reviews.
• Supporting product proposals, designing reviews and other customer meetings to present IS practices and product conformance.
• Developing and implementing an information security education, training and awareness program for other developers.
• Other duties as assigned.
Must have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Applicant must possess the experience with vulnerability scanning and testing tools such as Rentina and the DISA Gold Disk.
• Must be able to conform to policy and only access data, control information, software, hardware and firmware using the appropriate privileges/roles for which need to know has been established.
• Must have a working knowledge of security policies, technical safeguards and must be able to take appropriate security measures.
• Must have a working knowledge of Windows, QNX and/or Linux/Unix operating system functionality.
• Must be willing to travel in support of business needs.
• Must be able to meet specific SAP/SAR eligibility requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of NIST 800-53 and DoDI 8500.2
• Must have current CISSP-ISSEP certifications
• BSCS, BSCE, BSSoftE + 5 years of demonstrated results; equivalent work experience may be substituted for formal education.
• Must be a US Citizen
