Summary:
Builds cables, boards, assemblies, and boxes for microwave electronics.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Reads work orders, CAD prints or blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, assembly and schematic drawings, and receives verbal instructions regarding work assignments. 2. Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners. 3. Builds crimp and solder form cables. 4. Operates simple machines such as drill presses, shop vacuums, and hand presses. 5. Utilizes a variety of small hand tools to perform job duties, including, but not limited to, wrenches, screwdrivers, nut drivers, wire strippers, wire cutters, hand drills, wire crimpers, hammers, and punches. 6. Utilizes soldering irons to solder cables, wires, and other items. 7. Installs components and parts such as switches, coils, transformers, relays, on chassis, panels, or other units. 8. Routes and attaches cables and wires to form circuitry and connects assemblies to power sources, circuit boards, switch panels, or junction boxes. 9. Attaches hardware and seals assemblies. 10. Examines parts for defects. 11. Replaces defective components and wiring. 12. Completes appropriate paperwork and computer transactions necessary to finish work assignments. 13. Repairs defective units. 14. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
The Mechanical Assembler I is expected to perform job tasks with supervision.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all duties satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability needed to perform the needed tasks.
Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience..
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of the ERP Manufacturing software.
Certificates and Licenses: IPC-A-610 Certification
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
