General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Junior Network Engineer to assist the organization in supporting its growing business.

Under the direction of the Senior Network Engineer:
•Daily maintenance and problem resolution of local and wide area networking technologies.
•Implement, monitor, and test local and wide area networking technologies at multiple domestic and international locations to eliminate problems and make improvements.
•Provide support and troubleshooting to local / remote users and IT staff via phone and remote access.
•Develop and maintain detailed documentation including (but not limited to) topology diagrams, configuration versioning, design documentation, warranty and support information, change management documentation, and disaster recovery data.
•Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to resolve high-impact network support issues and network down situations.
Associate degree from 2 year college or technical school is required. An equivalent combination of education & experience will be considered.
Minimum Requirements:
•Prior experience with Cisco networking devices including (but not limited to) Catalyst switches, routers, ASA firewalls, and Aironet wireless preferred.
•Must have or have the ability to obtain the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification within one year of hire.
•Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member. Must be able to coordinate amongst various groups and functional teams.
•Excellent multi-tasking skills.
•Ability to perform tasks with moderate supervision.
Additionally, qualified candidates need to be able to demonstrate basic understanding of the following:
•Microsoft networking technologies including (but not limited to):
oActive Directory
oExchange / SMTP Email
oIIS
oSQL Databases
oWindows XP / 2003 / 2008 / 7 operating systems.
•Microsoft application technologies including (but not limited to):
oOffice (Access / Excel / Word)
oVisio
•Basic network troubleshooting skills.
•Ability to apply technical products and solutions to business scenarios.
Further, experience in the following technologies is highly desirable:
•F5 BIG-IP Application Control Engines
•McAfee Firewall Enterprise (formerly Secure Computing Sidewinder G2)
•McAfee Web Gateway
•RSA SecurID
