Fortress Technologies, recently acquired by General Dynamics, is successful company building wireless communication equipment for various US agencies and organizations. Fortress is able to deliver high quality products to the market in short times, making for a fast paced environment with room for personal achievement, ownership, and excitement.
We are seeking a mid-level Engineer that will work with an experienced team to deliver innovative high assurance wireless networking products. Candidate must have real world knowledge and a disciplined approach to product development. The individual will need to adapt to “Time-To-Market” demands, ensuring product quality and timely delivery in a highly dynamic market environment.
Requirements
• BSEE/BSCE or equivalent with 5+ years hardware development experience in the areas of board level design (analog, digital, RF and PCB), mixed signal, FPGA design, and hardware product compliance. Proven record of designing and delivering products from inception to production delivery. • Work independently on embedded hardware architectures on all phases of design including specification, schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, DVT, and product compliance (emissions, safety, MIL-STD, and environmental). Signal integrity analysis and board level simulation experience is a strong plus. • Minimum 2 years of experience in FPGA development including VHDL/Verilog design, simulation, synthesis, and verification. Should have in-depth familiarity with Xilinx FPGAs, particularly the Virtex family, embedded system design, Synplicity, and Modelsim development tools. • Ability to troubleshoot designs in a mixed signal system. Experience with ARM and MIPS processors, communication and preferably radio based products. • Hands-on Test/Debug Experience in an engineering Lab environment with PC tools, scopes, and logic/spectrum/LAN analyzers, as well as support lab activities such as assembly, debug, lab management, and component purchases. • Support manufacturing life cycle for new products from NPI to successful production run.
Desired
• Strong pluses: Experience developing hardware/embedded systems for IPSec/VPN, Firewall, MESH, WiFi and WiMAX and radio based system.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, a related technical field, or the equivalent experience is required. In addition, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
