GDC4S is seeking senior software engineers with commercial or tactical military experience in medium to large converged IP networks. Familiarity with Information Assurance products, procedures, and implementation is also beneficial.
The senior software engineers will be part of a team that plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products during the Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS)/Post Production Software Support (PPSS) phase of a systems lifecycle.
The job expectations include the ability to:
Research, design, and develop computer software systems applying principles and techniques of computer science and engineering.
Design, develop, operate, maintain, and document software to be applied to engineering requirements.
Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the PDSS/PPSS phase of the life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products.
Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
Ability to lead and take on technologically challenging tasks.
Demonstrates good depth of knowledge
Education and Experience
BS Degree in software engineering +5 years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree highly sought.
Candidates should possess a background in existing and emerging technologies used in voice and data communications networks. Possess an understanding of the entire life cycle of a software project. Must be capable of presenting technical concepts to audiences of various technical abilities.
Experience in software development including exposure to C, C++, Java, Clearcase, VBScript for System Administration, System Hardening, Automation, and Installation techniques desirable.
Experiance in Unix administration highly sought.
Knowledge of the following is an advantage: data routers, data switches, voice over IP, and a working knowledge of Solaris, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, and MS SQL Server.
Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
Applicant must be capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance.
Applicant must be a US Citizen.
Candidates with TS/SCI Clearances highly sought.
