General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies has an opening available for an Inventory Control/Shipping & Receiving Coordinator at its facility in Richardson, TX. This person will be responsible for handling and maintaining the flow of materials and products in and out of the warehouse/stockroom and manufacturing area. This person will receive and inspect parts as well as stocking and pulling parts to be kitted. This person will also arrange transportation for outbound shipments of deliverable goods and items transferred to other GDST locations or job sites. This person must be capable of maintaining accurate stockroom records utilizing a computerized inventory package and be experienced in operating hand trucks and forklifts in order to load and off-load material. This position requires someone with 4 plus years of experience working in an Inventory Control position. This position reports to the Shipping & Transportation Supervisor.
Specific duties, tasks and responsibilities include:
• Receiving material from various delivery companies (DHL, UPS, FedEx, Local Electrical Companies, etc.)
• Checking materials received against Purchase Orders, Bills of Lading or other documents to verify correctness and condition of incoming shipments, noting any and all discrepancies.
• Creating material receipts in Deltek GCS Premier Accounting package.
• Distributing material as required by the PO or other direction given.
• Printing and distributing a daily receiving report.
• Performing the kitting activities of the stockroom as well as creating and maintaining shortage sheets for related kits.
• Delivering any received shortage to the appropriate kit/location.
• Entering all inventory material transactions in Deltek GCS Premier Accounting Package.
• Arrange transportation of outbound domestic and international shipments.
• Comply with all export regulations (EAR, ITAR, Customs, etc).
• Create packing lists and commercial invoices for shipments.
• File AES records for export shipments.
• Maintain all records per Records Retention Policy
• Following Electro Static Damage procedures for static sensitive components.
• Other duties as assigned.
In order to be successful in this position, the individual in this role must possess:
• .Excellent attention to detail
• Accurate computer entry skills with emphasis on numerical keying
• MS Office experience including Word and Excel
• Good written and verbal skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• High school diploma of GED equivalent
• International Shipping experience a plus
• Familiar with export regulations a plus
Additionally, this person must be:
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in Material Handling, Shipping/Receiving areas, and with Inventory Control Techniques.
• Able to operate a forklift and/or hand truck
• Able to climb up and down tall ladders as well as bend, stoop, stand and sit for extended periods of time.
• Able to lift 40 to 50 lbs.
• Able to multi-task and revise schedule at a moment’s notice
