General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies, located in Richardson, TX, is looking for a Program Manager II. In this role, you will be responsible for program management of government and commercial Satcom programs. The successful candidate will be a major contributor to our management team, in a highly visible position working closely with customers, as well as other members of the General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies’ team. Duties may include managing designated programs with P/L responsibility, interfacing with customers, reporting results to internal and external management, and supporting bidding and marketing activities. This individual must possess a minimum of 8 to 10 years of applicable professional work experience including a minimum of 5 years of program management experience, in a leadership capacity. Additionally, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an Engineering/Technical Discipline or in a closely-related field is required. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for education. A Master’s Degree is preferred along with PMI certification.
Specific duties may include:
• Organizing tasks in order to meet the proposed timelines of the project.
• Managing “cost plus” programs for the government and DOD contractors.
• Communicating to the customer regarding the progress of a project.
• Communicating and directing various departments regarding the status of a project.
• Other duties as assigned.
The following skills, knowledge and abilities, though not all-inclusive, characterize the nature of this position:
• Possess a minimum of 8 to 10 years of applicable professional work experience including a minimum of 5 years of program management experience.
• Be comfortable working on complex programs, satisfying demanding customers.
• Be a self-starter with strong communi¬ca¬tions skills, capable of carrying out independent management of programs and interacting effectively with the rest of the team.
• Have experience with multi-million dollar electro-mechanical programs, preferably with ground based satellite antennas, radio or optical telescopes
• Experience with Earn Value Management Systems is preferred.
• Experience using MS Project or related scheduling software.
• Have experience managing “cost plus” government and DOD contracts.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an Engineering/Technical Discipline or in a closely-related field. Equivalent work experience is may be substituted. A Master’s Degree is preferred. PMI certification is preferred.
