General Dynamics C4 Systems is a diverse and growing business. We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer for the Arlington, VA operations. Persons seeking this position must be highly motivated, a self-starter, and have experience handling multiple tasks successfully in a fast paced, customer environment. The select candidate will ensure all teams located at the facility are meeting all necessary CDRLs and SLOs as laid out in the contract as necessary for the Enterprise multi-level UNIX based system and multiple Windows based networks. The candidate will be required to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for an Enterprise level multi-level UNIX based system and multiple Windows based networks. Candidate must have experience with logical and systematic conversion of customer and or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Candidate will be required to perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies that translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills are essential. Experience working with DoD classified IT system security configuration and processes is essential. The selected candidate will be required to originate, implement, and complete multiple complex problems across a wide variety of projects. Candidate will ensure all issues and deliverables are reported in a timely manner and presented in customer approved formats. Must be able to manage a risk profile and design effective mitigation strategies while maintain national level system security accreditation requirements. Skilled at executing complex tasks and must be able to participate in program and team strategies for multiple projects. Selected candidate will be required to interpret the technical, organizational and process aspects of the project as it pertains to customer requirements. Candidate will work in customer business spaces.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, a related field, or the equivalent experience is required. In addition, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance, and U.S. Citizenship is required.
Applicant must be able to pass an extended background investigation (EBI) for this position.
Applicant must have an “active” TS/SCI clearance. Applicant must be a US Citizen. Applicant must meet DoDD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAM-I. Candidates must be willing to travel in support of business needs. Helpdesk experience required. Hands-on use of Remedy software is essential. Applicant must be able to meet specific SAP/SAR eligibility requirements. Consent to a Counter-Intelligence polygraph will be required
