General Dynamics C4 Systems specializes in Human-Centered Design techniques that are focused on combining user feedback with capability requirements early in the development process to deliver the right product to the end user the first time. Our engineers and visual designers create graphical user interface software solutions based on information visualization, interactive data exploration and real-time collaboration.
Duties: • Act as a customer liaison to ensure questions are responded to and needs are met both at Viz and customer installations. • Document and track progress of customer support requests. • Ability to translate support experiences into development requirements and/or standard operating procedures. • Ability to translate technical language to lay audiences. • Configure, Test and deliver Viz & TBC software – front and back end - per requirements. • Coordinate and participate in the definition, testing, and delivery of software enhancements. • Test and Debug Viz software at customer site during testing and deployment phases of projects. • Analyze customer requirements and assist in documentation of business requirements that define how the system will be deployed. • Attend customer meetings. Document customer requests and all responses to those requests. • Assist Viz software teams and customers to baseline current operational practices and procedures. • Develop and Conduct customer specific training sessions as needed both at Viz and military installations. • Develop, as necessary, internal and external documentation. • Provide onsite support throughout the United States. • Carry a mobile device & provide on-call support

Experience with: • Implementing new applications and product suites • Supporting large-scale mission-critical applications • Distributed systems • Able to effectively characterize and document problems encountered in the field – while the emphasis is on software, support of hardware & networking issues is also required • Production support (24/7 experience desirable) Desired areas of hands-on experience: • Fielding Java and XML based implementations • Basic knowledge of Java programming and Java garbage collection • Experience with server side technologies • Solaris experience a plus • HTML, JavaScript and other client side technologies • Experience in writing scripts in Perl, Bash, etc. • Familiarity with Windows 2003 Professional, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 2003 Server • Familiarity with Microsoft enterprise system (SharePoint Server, Exchange, etc.) configuration and administration • Hardware install/break/fix/test skills • VMWare ESXi 3.5, 4.0, 4.1
Education and Experience Bachelor's Technology Degree or Bachelor's Degree in an engineering support discipline (e.g., Management, Accounting) and a minimum of three (3) years of progressively more responsible directly related R&D engineering support experience, or have an equivalent experience
Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
Applicant must be capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance.
Applicant must be a US Citizen.
May deploy and operate with US Forces in CONUS and OCONUS field locations
Must be able to travel 20% of the time. Ability to obtain a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance is required, as is U.S. Citizenship.
