Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensuring the maintenance, operation and performance of Ku and Ka-Band Mobile Terminals Personnel selected will be assigned to various locations in CONUS and OCONUS supporting the SATCOM UHT and various SATCOM Terminal Trailer configurations. Working with site personnel to: Maintain satellite communication system availability above acceptable levels Troubleshoot and resolve any identified circuit or equipment outages or degradation Provide interim reports as necessary, based on particular site conditions and/or problems Maintain the site (including electronics and office) in professional and clean manner Core Requirements:
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information Must be willing to work in less than desirable conditions Must be willing to deploy to SWA Requires a valid U.S. driver’s license and the ability to obtain an international driver’s license Four-plus years of strategic or tactical multi-channel satellite communications experience Strong grasp of satellite communications operational theory Must possess the knowledge to operate and configure the following equipment to include, but not limited to: Antenna controller, satellite acquisition HPA/TWT, LNA/LNB - Low Noise Fiber/Coax/Ethernet Cable Work FDMA/TDMA modems (satellite modems) Up-converters, down-converters ViaSat Linkway Modems
BS Degree in a specific engineering or related technical field (e.g. BSEE, BSCS) and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible and directly related field engineering support expertise, or have equivalent combination of education and exp. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience is preferred. Minimum of 4 - 10 year experience with military tactical communication systems, SATCOM network management, and digital communications systems planning a must. CCNA, CCNP desired. Experience with Promina and REDCOM IGX is also highly sought. 50% travel is possible.
Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
Applicant must be capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance.
