To carry out the assembly and proof of performance tests of standard feed system products and associated components.
• Perform mechanical assembly of feed components.
• Perform fundamental RF test under guidance of engineering.
• Prepare measurement data package for final processing by lab supervisor
• Ability to work from drawings and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
• Work to given schedules and complete task in a timely manner.
• Technical writing related to reporting lab and test activities
• Knowledge of use of a computer for word processing, spread sheet work
• Assist other departments
• Maintain assembly tools and test equipment
• Compliance with corporate office and safety policies.
• Compliance with corporate security and proprietary property policies.
• Compliance with engineering design and drafting standards.
• Compliance with RF departmental policies and procedures.
• Follows direction from Production Manager (immediate supervisor) and upper management.
This position is with General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies, Inc., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Government Systems, Inc., but which operationally reports into General Dynamics C4 Systems, Inc. Experience and Education
• High School diploma
• Reasonable experience in mechanical and electrical assembly and repair.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Must have good mechanical aptitude.
• Must have a working knowledge of electrical circuits.
• Must have basic understanding of how an RF feed system functions.
Machines and Equipment Involved:
• Electronic equipment as used in antenna testing.
• Use of normal mechanical hand tools in the preparation of test jigs and fixtures.
• Soldering equipment.
• Forklift and jib hoist (training provided).
