This position is for a Systems Engineer Principal within General Dynamics CND C4 Systems that can support the development of large, complex systems. Successful applicants for this position in the JTRS-AMF project will be an engineering leader and a strategist responsible for defining technical strategies assoiciated with all aspects of systems engineering. Candidate must be hands on and must have good communication skills and must be a team player.
• Systems engineering artifact generation (e.g. systems requirements, systems design).
• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocations and interface studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Perform technical planning, system integration, cost, schedule and risk.
• Lead technological and team efficiency problems.
• Strong advocate of continuous process improvement.
• Leads large proposals and company wide business pursuits.
• Recognized as a technical expert and visionary.
• Mentors multiple members of the team.
Required Degree/Major:
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. Masters preferred. (BSEE or MSEE).
Experience:
Minimum 10 years experience as a System Engineer. Minimum 5 years experience with DoD projects understanding systems requirements and artifact generation for Software Defined Radios required.
Communication:
Knowledge of TCP/IP, BSD Sockets and Layered communication architecture required. Knowledge of RF Systems design (e.g. JTRS Type 1 Radio Systems)
Hardware:
Working knowledge of hardware elements, ability to read schematics and block diagrams. Knowledge of PowerPC 8544 architecture, TI DSP, FPGA and Communication System Elements required.
Software Experience:
- Programming Languages - C and OOP in C++.
- Operating Systems - Knowledge of Green Hills Integrity OS. Experienced in writing multithreaded applications
Tools:
- Clearcase and Clearquest Rational tools
- Telelogic DOORS, Rhapsody, Understand C++, Rational Rose, Visio
- Zeligsoft or Prismtech tools for Software Defined Radio development
Waveforms
- Knowledge of JTRS Waveforms
- Knowledge of SCA v2.2.2, Knowledge of CORBA, UML and XML as it applies to JTRS SDR
- Knowledge of JPEO API and their interfaces to the Waveform.
Security Clearance - Ability to obtain required.
Applicant must be capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance.
Applicant must be a US Citizen.
